Working together, learning and embracing community gardening and involvement at Parihaka in the māra. We are lucky to take all we learn at Parihaka back to our kura where we apply this new knowledge to our own school māra. We grow our own kūmara, taewa(potatoes), tomatoes and even rākau for our ngahere project.
We get to use the produce we grow and either share it with others or eat it ourselves. We have made kumara chips from our kumara, rewena bread from tutae kuri( a purple māori potato) and set up our “Koha Tēpu” to move on excess tomato and produce.
